Its Our Boy's Birthday

Oh my goodness me .... our boy is 13 today .... where has the time gone?

In 13 years he has gone from being 51 centimtres and 6lb 13 oz to a hulking 5ft 8" and goodness how heavy!   No wonder I have no food left in the cupboards!

I am in love with Extreme Elements.  I love love love this set and what a great card it made.  I actually made two and Olivia chose this one for Kieran.  Can't wait to make some girl versions - so super quick and super impressive - reckon this could be my next workshop Make and Take.

Happy Birthday KP - pressies included Turtle Beaches - very very expensive headphones for xBox 'Live' nuts .... thankfully we found them in the US so they were half the price, a special gift from dad - a new Manchester United soccer strip and a week of celebrations which started last Sunday as his dad can't be home with us today.

Happy birthday sweetheart.

Love Mum, Dad, Olivia, Max and Spencer

Happy Birthday Chloe

IMG_9375
Its my niece's birthday today - Happy Birthday Chloe.

I've used the Create a Cupcake set from the new Autumn Winter mini to make a very girlie and very sparkly card.

To create the sparkly  bit you just stamp your image as usual - then apply Versamark over the whole image.  Cover this with Heat and Stick Powder and warm with a heat gun.  The Heat and Stick power is a little like clear embossing powder - it 'turns' sticky with the heat.  Sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds over the top - tap off and reheat for a few seconds to set.

I've then punched all the pieces out using the new Build a Cupcake Punch - attached a piece of linen thread and some sparkles.

I love the sparkly bit - and I will be showing you more examples because I have made a start on some Christmas cards - theres lots and lots of Dazzling Diamonds :)

I hope you have a beautiful day Chloe.

Birthday hugs and kisses from Auntie Nikki, Uncle Paul, Olivia, Kieran, Max and still being very naughty Spencer!

Our Very Own Lifesaver!

We are so proud of Olivia, for the past five days she had been attending a lifesavers course.  Her days have been filled with first aid training, board work, swimming in the sea, learning about rips and the different sorts of marine life living off Mordialloc beach that can be a danger to swimmers, how to use the radio and so much more.

Yesterday she passed her written and fitness tests (running 200m, swimming 200m and then another 200m run in less than five minutes) and she became a life saver!

IMG_3805
Of course she isn't too happy about wearing the hat ... but her dad gave her a few fashion tips on wearing it with style!  What does he look like?  And yes that is the smallest top they have!

IMG_3814
Even Max tried to help her out with a few fashion tips!

We are so proud of you sweetheart - you decided a long time ago you wanted to be a life saver and just look at you now - mission accomplished!

And what does a lifesaver do next?  She's sleeping in until 1pm she said!  And there was me thinking that our daughter had turned over a new leaf :o)

Back tomorrow with more creations!

Happy Birthday Christian

We have a nephew in England is going to be 15 today - wow now that is old.  So old in fact that I had to make his card twice ... the first one I made everyone said it was far too young for him (so I am saving that one for my brother in January!) so off I set once again to make a more 'teenage boy' card.

Well and truly stuck for ideas, I had a look around the net and cased this card - I've been waiting to use this set Just Surfing - it's lovely.

Pacific Point is such a lovely colour and just teamed with white it's very crisp.  Lots of layering and I've used some Dimensionals to give it some lift.  Hope you like it Christian and that you have a super day ... you are making your Auntie Nikki and Uncle Paul feel very old!

Happy Birthday Christian

Lots of love from Uncle Paul, Auntie Nikki, Olivia and Kieran

Happy Anniversary Chris and Clare

It's my brother's 17th wedding anniversary today - he married his lovely wife Clare the same year that Paul and I got married ... it was a big year for Mum and Dad!

IMG_3674
I love this card ... and I hope my brother and his wife do too. This is the new I {Heart} Hearts set from the Summer Mini - don't you just love those hearts.  And the great thing is that this set works with both of the heart punches so you don't even have to cut around the shapes - perfect!

The little sentiment is from the Hostess Level I set, Sweet Little Sentiments - I've stamped and then punched with the word window.  Colours are Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White ... and the hearts are stamped in Versamark to create the background.

I hope this card reaches you in time - Happy Anniversary guys - have a good one.

Love the Sadlers

Beautiful Smiles

IMG_3064
I've been having a bit of fun scrapbooking today ... I love to document the things that happen in our lives and I can never seem to catch up with all the photos that I want to scrapbook.  This is one of my favourites from a few weeks ago. It is the daughter of one of my friends who I have missed very much since moving to Melbourne ... I hadn't realised quite how much until she bought her lovely family to see us a few weeks ago (we missed you JP).  Well the good news is that this lovely family are making the move across from Perth back to Melbourne in the not to distant future and the Sadlers are very very excited for them.

Olivia did make me laugh though ... it was just weeks after the nagging for a kitten and this time is was for a  little sister ... humm perhaps the kitten seems an easier option after all! Izzy is just the most beautiful little girl ... she loved playing with our dog Max, climbing in and out of his bed and taking a bath in his water bowl .... gosh I had forgotten just how much mischief one little cherub could get herself into.

Hurry back Palmer family - we are looking forward to seeing you all again very soon.

Nikki
