Elegant Eggplant Christmas

IMG_2138A lovely simply Christmas card from one of the recent Christmas in July classes - I was stretching myself to make cards using non-traditional colours - wasn't easy but I do like this one.

I also then changed the sentiment and made this into a lovely teenage girl's birthday card - which should be with its recipient by now :)

Christmas In July again!

IMG_9380
I love this card.  It was inspired from a stamping magazine - not sure which one but when I saw the tree made with the leaves from the two step bird punch I knew that eventually I would find the time to make it.  It really is very easy (yes Sharon I did write easy LOL) to place the leaves (tear off the stems) into a shape of a tree - and when we made this in the class last week we had trees of all different styles ... and they all looked lovely.

I've used the Vintage Vogue set to create the background - stamping tone on tone with Rich Razzleberry - and the pearls are a must have finish for the card.

Christmas In July

IMG_9382
I've made a start on my Christmas cards.  How is that for organised?  I have started a monthly Christmas card class (waving hi to the ladies from Friday night) - here is the first of the three that we made.

Poppy Parade, Early Espresso and Whisper White .... lovely combination.  If you are wondering about that die cut - its the Top Note die cut once as usual and then you pop it back in the other way round to create a more square shape.

There are still a couple of places left in the August class - its on the 26th - and we are going to be getting glittery.  If you want to book a seat call or SMS 0428 254 952.

Stampamemory Challenge - Spring!

IMG_7379
The challenge this month is Spring - I hummed and arrrhhhed for ages .... did I choose flowers, the new veggie patch .... tulips?  I settled for our new garden residents ... a little family of Blackbirds and some Collar Doves.

Wild Wasabi is my new favourite green - and yes your eyes are not deceiving you - the cardstock is wonky under the title ... having completed the page I put it onto the bench in the kitchen ready to photograph it ... right in a puddle of water ... ooops!

Hop on over to the Stampamemory site to enter the challenge - we'd love to see all of your entries.

Three Little Owls

IMG_7004
Just how cute is the new Two Step Owl punch?  It was the first thing I ordered from the new catalogue :)

I punched out three different colours of cardstock, Riding Hood Red, Cake Crumb and Early Espresso and one set from a scrap of the Love Letters designer series paper.

This gave me enough pieces to create three happy chappies - and a few branches from the Two Step Bird punch and hey presto they had something to sit on.

The sentiment is from the Perfect Punches stamp set - I used a Riding Hood Red marker to colour just the words in and the Stamp-a-ma-gig to line it up.  Of course a Top Note Die Cut is the perfect way to frame the owls - a little bit of daubing and a lovely piece of Early Espresso taffeta ribbon and the card was finished in no time.

I think this little owl will feature a lot this year ... I've seen some lovely ideas to create other things with the same punch - watch this space for more ideas.

Happy Birthday Nicky

Oh yes another May birthday ... this time a friend from England.  We had some great times together when we lived in the same street in Scotland, but I left to live here and Nicky moved to England.  So now we exchange emails from time to time cards for special occasions.

As you can see I have been having fun with the Big Shot again - and this time I have used my favourite technique of brayering and sponging to create a cute card.  The little polka dots are from the impressions folder and the top note die cut has been trimmed to fit the card.

Then I've used some sponging to create a scene upon which I have set a cute little bird - he (or is it she) is the Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch - this punches the bird in three parts ... very handy and I can see this punch being very useful for creating other things too.

So Nicky I hope you enjoy your card and have a fantastic day - the Sadler family do miss the fun times we all had in Scotland.

Love from Paul, Nikki, Olivia, Kieran and Max
