Happy 50th to Pegi - and helping with the Fargo Flood

I first have to wish my dear friend PEGI TAYLOR a happy 50th birthday!

Happy Birthday Pegi!
I made this card for her over the weekend. Unfortunately I haven't mailed it yet becuase Bryan and I packed up at the last minute and drove to Fargo, ND to help flood victims. So I'm in Fargo right now and Pegi's b-day card is sitting down in my stamping room 200+ miles away.

I had fun making this card, it has lots of layers! The flower are actualy embossed with clear embossing powder and then I cut around them. Might be hard to tell in the photo. This paper is Le Jardine by Stampin' Up!... which is retired.... bummer, cause I LOVE IT.

Pegi - I'm sorry I can't make it to your b-day dinner tonight. I promise to make it up to you. Avery and I will take you out sometime later this week.

Please keep the flood victims in your prayers. We helped a woman move all of her stuff out of her house last night. The river is only 20 feet away from her house and it's expected to flood her entire house. Her husband is a trucker and isn't home right now so he has no clue how severe it is. Poor things.

Have a good day everyone

sympathy

Seems like every time I blog... I blog about my Dad. But tomorrow will mark the 3 year anniversary since he list his battle with cancer. So of course I'm thinking about him. I'm slowly getting through the grieving process. It's taken much longer than I thought.

Anyway - I designed this card a few months ago. My customers were needing Sympathy card ideas. So this is what I came up with. And since I'm currently grieving my Dad, I thought it was good timing to share this card.

Other crazy news at the Otremba house... I LOST MY .78 carat DIAMOND from my wedding ring! UGH! I noticed it missing when I was in the shower. 3 of the 6 prongs are broke off and I have NO CLUE how that happened. Thankfully it is insured... but DARN IT.... I want MY diamond. So we'll be spending the next few days searching the house. Hopefully it's in the house. Keep your fingers crossed.

On the FUN side of things. Avery had pictures at the Dance studio today. So I snapped a few myself. Next weekend she has competition in Tap & Jazz at the Northrup Auditorium at the University of MN. I'm very very excited!!!! She also is in a picture on the dance studio's website. Check it out by clicking here.

Happy EARLY birthday to my dear friend PEGI!!

Joys of being a mom

Life has been busy as usual the past 2 weeks with hockey and dance of course. I'm LOVING every second of it! I was able to take some MOM time this morning and design my swap for the Stampin' Up! regional convention soon coming to Minneapolis. I'll be making 100 total swaps. 60 pink and 40 blue. I might have to keep a few for myself to make into cards.

Here's a picture of Avery during her dance show Friday evening (she's in the middle). She performed her tap dance for us. In 2 weeks she has a weekend long competition in tap & hip/hop. I can't wait!

Here's a picture of Carsen from last weekend's hockey jamboree (he's #5 and taking a shot on goal). His team lost 4 out of 4 games... but hey... we don't care because he LOVES the game. And we love to watch. "Yes", I'm that annoying hockey mom who cheers the whole game... teeheee.
So that's it. I'm keeping my posts short and sweet so you don't fall asleep reading it! Teehee

Have a good weekend everyone. Hope your enjoying the sun shine as much as I am!

I AM BACK!

YIPPIE - I am BACK!!
I had time to re-organize my stamp/scrap room this weekend & even did some scrapbooking. Now I feel like I'm ready to ROLL again! The stamping flame has been re-ignited thanks to Pine, Zappa, Terry, and friends.

After dinner this evening I made this adorable picture frame for Avery's Big Sis at the Dance Academy.

I'm hoping to get back into blogging again. Don't count on a post every day... but perhaps every week or so. Hows that? Oh yah, don't forget to check out Pegi's blog (www.bellawillow.blogspot.com) she has some interesting stuff going on!

So I've obsiously haven't been blogging. I deaply appologize! Unfortunately I may have to put my blogging on pause. I'm not sure how long until I'm back into the blogging grove.... I'm still adjusting to working full time and haveing 2 active school agers. Blogging just hasn't found it's way back into my schedule yet.

My job requires me to travel 1-2 times a month and Bryan travels for work too. So our schedule is a little hectic. Both kids are now in school & sports so our evening home work and events have doubled. Don't get me wrong... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! So for now I just haven't found time to stamp or blog. I miss blogging... but I haven't missed the stamping so much (gasp!). I know I know... seems kinda odd to hear me say that....but I have found so much pleasure in my job & my new life style that I don't even think about stamping. However, I'm hoping I'll figure out the balancing act SOON and get back into blogging & stamping!

Anyway... I want to wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I'll hopefully be blogging again in a few months.
SMILES!!!

lots going on

So I've been busy with work. WE had a company golf outing which was a total BLAST! Had the time of my life!!! Gotta give a shout out to my GOLF TEAM!! Hey Shorty... you ROCK.

The kids and I participated in the Children's Cancer Research Fund 5k walk last Saturday. Our company raised over $2,100. I'm pretty proud of that!!
Some scary news. My step-father had a heart attack 2 weeks ago. SO I spent a few days with him in the hospital. He's fine now... had to have an angiogram at which time they placed a stint in a main artery and now he's all fixed. He'll be back at his normal activities in 2 more weeks. Getting that phone call was pretty rough. It brought back memories of my dad... I'm not ready to lose any more men in my life... especially a father-figure. But.... all is fine and we're moving on with great thanks to God that Tom is still with us today!

Otherwise... not time to stamp... but here are some designs I made a few weeks ago. ENJOY

Q & A about the new Catalog.

Here is some info that was posted on the SU! demonstrator website about the NEW CATALOG. It looks like it will not be arriving until August. Oh - the agony of waiting!

Q: When will Demonstrators receive a copy of the Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog? Demonstrators should receive their complimentary copy sometime between August 1 and August 11. However, because the US Postal Service is allowed to deliver catalogs whenever the mail carrier can accommodate them, we cannot guarantee delivery dates.

Q:When can Demonstrators begin preordering the new catalog? Demonstrators can preorder the new catalog starting July 7, 2008 at 7:00 AM (MT). Catalogs ordered by July 27 will be shipped to arrive before August 11, 2008, although we cannot guarantee delivery.

Trust me folks... I'll let you know when they arrive. And remember. ... I sell them for only $5.
